We will also briefly give updates on the North Market Street Improvements, Storm Water Utility Fee, Olympian Drive Project, Parkland job training services and a brief follow-up on the MTD services, and discuss an desired changes for 2012-2013.

Closing of Kennedy’s
The Atkins’s Group is saddened to announce that Kennedy’s at Stone Creek has closed.
We are sad to see the closing of Kennedy’s. However, at the same time we are very excited to move forward and explore new possibilities for the wonderful space at the restaurant and banquet facility.
Kennedy’s restaurant has been at Stone Creek since May 2000. Watch their website for information about gift certificate redemptions.
Pinehurst Commons welcomes Audibel
Audibel’s Champaign office moved to Pinehurst Commons in early December, just in time for their 10 year anniversary of helping hearing impaired patients in Central Illinois.
Digital Hearing Aids, Inc, d.b.a. Audibel Hearing Aids was opened for business in Champaign in 2001 by Jeff and Jayne Hanley, and also has offices in Danville and Monticello. Visit their website for grand re-opening specials.
Audibel’s new office is located at 3354 Big Pine Trail in Champaign, just off of Olympian Drive.

The Pines Welcomes Kinex Fitness Studios
Recently, The Pines welcomed Kinex Fitness Studios to southeast Urbana. Kinex is a studio designed specifically by personal trainers to create an innovative and unparalleled training experience. The studio features no membership fees, One-on-One & Semi-Private personal training sessions, and group fitness classes such as Yoga, Zumba & Hip-Hop Hustle.
Kinex Fitness Studios is located at 2740 S. Philo Rd. in Urbana at The Pines. They are open Mon – Fri, 5:30 am – 8:00 pm and Sat – Sun, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Recycle your old Electronics at Apollo this Saturday
A countywide residential electronics recycling event will be held on Saturday, October 29 from 8 a.m. until noon at the Apollo Industrial Park in Champaign.
Residents can drop off any of the following items for free:
- Televisions
- Computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, cables, Zip drives
- VCR/DVD players
- Cellphones
- Fax machines
- MP3 players
- PDAs
- Video game consoles
The drop-off locations will be at 3202 Apollo Drive (enter from Olympian Drive) and the News Gazette Distribution Center. There is a limit of 10 items per resident.
After January 1, 2012, new legislation will go into effect making it illegal to throw electronic devices in with trash bound for the landfill, and fees will be charged for disposal of those devices. This will be residents’ last chance of the year to get rid of their unwanted electronics for free.
The Pines Welcomes Maia Roman Spa
This fall, The Pines will welcome Maia Roman Spa to southeast Urbana. Described as “a luxurious facility founded on the great traditions of the ancient Roman spa,” Maia will offer a rejuvenating experience that includes manicures, pedicures, massages, body wraps, and high-end facials.
Maia will open in early November. Spa hours are expected to be 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Gill Athletics is hosting their 6th annual Factory Vault & Symposium in Apollo Subdivision July 1-2. The Symposium is on Friday, July 1 and provides athletes, coaches and parents the opportunity to learn technical aspects of the sport. The pole vault competition takes place on Saturday, June 2 and includes an Elite Competition where Olympic level athletes compete for prize money and world rankings!

FedEx Ground Expansion
FedEx Ground has announced plans to make a major expansion to its hub in The Atkins Group’s Apollo Subdivision;. The 97,600-square-foot addition will expand the hub to about 250,000 square feet. FedEx Ground’s 42 acre facility was the first tenant in the Apollo industrial park. Its expansion shows FedEx’s commitment to Apollo as well as the greater Champaign County community.

The Passing of Our Founder
The Atkins Group is saddened to announce the passing of our founder, Clinton C. Atkins, on Easter Sunday. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 27th from 3 to 7 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 1719 S. Prospect Ave., Champaign. Funeral services will be private. The Atkins family appreciates your thoughts, prayers, and respect for privacy at this trying time.
