Starting Monday, August 11, 2014, Market Street in Champaign will be closed between Olympian Drive and Ford Harris Road to begin construction activities for the resurfacing of this section of Market Street. A marked detour route utilizing Olympian Drive and I-57 will be in place to direct traffic around the project.
The project improvements include resurfacing of the existing two-lane pavement, the addition of a two-foot paved safety shoulder, culvert replacement, ditch cleaning and regrading as necessary.
The project is scheduled to be completed September 19.
