Serv-U, a Champaign restaurant supply company, is currently focusing on growing its local and regional presence by adding new showrooms in central Illinois as well as working with regional contractors to furnish and renovate kitchens in schools, churches, nursing homes and other institutions throughout the area.
The company, which is based in Champaign’s Apollo industrial park, opened a showroom in Springfield in July and upgraded its existing Champaign showroom at 3201 Apollo Drive, as well. Serv-U is also considering opening a showroom in Bloomington-Normal or Peoria. Regional customers with access to showrooms are likely to buy much more often. Currently around 20 percent of sales comes from local and regional restaurants and bars, generally within a 100-mile radius of Champaign-Urbana.
Serv-U is located in the Apollo subdivision in Champaign. They are a distributor of restartant and bar equipment with revenues of about $15 million a year.
