The Atkins Group is proud to welcome a new member to their team. Sophia Hortin was hired on January 4th as the first intern for Clearview Farm.
As an intern, Sophia will be integral in the initial startup and growth of Clearview Farm. Her main duties will involve developing a web presence, social media development, crop planning, media management and marketing.
Sophia is a sophomore at the University of Illinois majoring in Agricultural Leadership Education and Communications. Sophia grew up on a corn and soybean farm in Champaign County outside of Fisher. Sophia served as the State President of the Illinois Association FFA in 2018-2019. Her interests are farming with her family, active involvement with on-campus Agricultural organizations and traveling.
Clearview Farm is a new regenerative agriculture experimental farm. It is located in the Clearview Subdivision south of St Thomas More High School in Champaign. The farm will showcase a variety of crops most of which are not widely grown in this area. Clearview Farm was conceptualized after the success of the sunflowers at Stone Creek Golf course in the summer of 2020. It is sure to provide education and enjoyment for the East Central Illinois region.
