After 3 1/2 years at The Pines, Wines at the Pines will be closing at the end of the month. Owner Jessica Stanis, who recently received a doctoral degree in neuroscience from the U of I, has accepted a postdoctoral position at McLean Hospital, a teaching facility of Harvard Medical School in Massachusetts.
The closing was announced yesterday, with Stanis stating “This decision was not an easy one, as we have thoroughly loved your stories and genuine support. We will certainly miss the community ties that we have built and maintained over the years. My growth and passion for wine and coffee are the direct result of working with you all.”
Wines at the Pines will be selling their remaining assets and inventory in the weeks leading up to the closing. Wine retail is 20% off, and wine accessories and beer retail are 50% off.
